Flow of Visit
- Go to 14F by using elevetors at 1F
Around the 1F’s Star, there are elevators which goes directly 14F. There is often queue, but the queue lines up so fast, so not so irritated.
- Show the ticket for a clew
- Get an elevator which goes to 45F
- Get an escalator to 46F ( indoor observatory )
- Deposit your luggage in coin-operated locker (you need deposit for ¥100, but it will return)
- Get an escalator to Rooftop
- Pick up your luggage
What you can see
Elevetor
there is some projection mapping and sound effect while you are in it.
Roof top Escalator
Really Good location. I recommend you to take videos.
Helicopter port
East
Tokyo Sky Tree
West
With Mt. Fuji
You can also see Yokohama bay, too (South-West)
North
Shinjuku buildings
South
Tokyo Bay
Corner
Each corner has a kind of photo spot, and you can take photo as if you are floating on the sky. Shinjuku-side corner (East-North?, before the escalator to roof top) is the most crowded. (This is not, but all corners designed the same. difference is just a viewing )
Notes that I noticed during my actual visit
Buy your ticket so early
The ticket is sold out early. Once it sold out, you can not buy tickets at the day even you visit the counter. Also, the best time (sunset time around 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. ) is so popular, so it will sold out 3 weeks before. other time is usually sold out 2 days before.
To sum up, you should buy tickets as soon as possible after you decide to visit SHIBUYA SKY.
Bring some 100 yen coins
You must deposit your luggage except smartphones and cameras. Therefore, 100-yen coin is necessary, but the place is crowded, so you might not have any chance to exchange.
Re-enter is forbitten
Once you left, you cannot re-enter, so do not miss anything.
Bring some water before you enter (Especially daytime)
After you entered, you can buy drinks at souvenir shop ( PET bottled water 200mL, ¥220), or cafe-bar (some kinds of juice, coffee, and cocktail ). These are a bit expensive, so you don’t interested in the cafe, you should bring water bottle. Especially, on sunny day, you’ll get tired because the roof has no shade.
Check your make-up and clothings before coin locker
After you get off the elevator, you can go to the toilet, and there are mirrors to check your make-up and outfits. SHIBUYA SKY is such a photogenic spot, so I hope you all will not be disappointed because of your outfits.
Finally
Thank you for visiting this site, and I hope you all enjoy your trip to SHIBUYA, and enjoy great viewing.
